Which engine does the analysis?
Stockfish 18, the strongest chess engine in the world. The review runs on Chess411’s own engine server so every move is checked at full speed, and when you explore lines afterwards Stockfish runs in your browser, so you can dig into a position for as long as you like.
How do I import games from chess.com or lichess?
Type the username you play under and pick the site. Your recent games appear in a list grouped by day; choose one and the review starts. Chess411 reads games through the public chess.com and lichess APIs, so no password is needed and there is nothing to install. Games from anywhere else can be pasted as a PGN.
What do the move labels like brilliant and blunder mean?
Every move is compared with what the engine would have played. Moves that keep the position’s value are labeled best, excellent or good; moves that give value away are inaccuracies, mistakes or blunders depending on how much they cost. A miss is a winning chance that slipped by, and brilliant is saved for strong sacrifices.
How is the accuracy score calculated?
Each move is scored by how much of the position’s value it kept compared with the engine’s choice, and the game number summarizes that per player. It is the same idea as the accuracy shown on chess.com and lichess: clean conversions score in the high nineties, and every blunder drags the number down.
What is the Game Rating?
An estimate of the Elo level the moves in this one game were played at, judged from move quality rather than the result. One game is a small sample, so treat it as a snapshot: a quiet draw can rate above your usual strength, and a single blunder can sink an otherwise clean game.
Can I try my own moves during the review?
Yes, the review board stays live. Move any piece to branch into your own line and Stockfish evaluates it in your browser as you go, or play out the engine’s recommended line move by move. The arrow keys step through the game, and the Next button jumps straight to the moments that decided it.
Where do I get a PGN?
Every major chess site exports one. On chess.com, open the finished game and use the Share dialog; on lichess, the FEN & PGN section sits under the analysis board. Copy the whole text, headers included, paste it here, and the review starts from move one.
